Week 4

Hebrews 13:5… (KJV) I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE
Loneliness is sometimes defined as the mental or emotional state you experience at times that makes you feel sad, or depressed when you are alone. You can be single, married, in a committed relationship, with family or friends or even in a crowd. When we feel this way, it is often triggered by a past memory, current experience, recent break-up, separation, divorce, a quiet environment, a singles’ outing, feelings of disconnectedness, upcoming holidays or celebrations, looking at pictures on your smart phone or just while watching a movie by yourself. When these triggers arise, don’t allow them to take over your emotions causing you to do something ungodly or reacting impulsively i.e. going shopping to charge unnecessary items/over-spending, eating unhealthy foods, making compromising calls/ dates, or indulging in other behaviors harmful to you that God has delivered you from…or will deliver you from. Satan works over-time to make us feel bad by sending thoughts our way hoping we’ll act on them. Instead, cast these thoughts down by replacing them with scriptures that will help us resist the temptations, (2Cor. 10:5). Then, embrace these moments by talking to God asking for His help and expressing your feelings to Him. If you’re at home you can read your Bible or a good inspirational book, listen to your favorite praise and worship songs or just journal your thoughts. Invite His presence in by asking Him to draw near to you. James 4:8 (AMP) says; Come close to God and He will come close to you. He’ll draw near to you anytime or anywhere. God eagerly awaits to hear from you. When you call on Him, you will encounter His precious presence and be comforted in knowing that he heard your prayer and delighted in answering it.
